Rome Snowboards

Rome Snowboards was founded in 2001 in Waterbury, Vermont by Paul Maravetz and Josh Reid, two former Burton Snowboards product developers. Maravetz and Reid, with the help of Dan Sullivan, launched the Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate (Rome SDS) with three snowboard for sale and a line of gloves.

From the launch of the snowboard brand, a large focus has been on anti-establishment and a “made by snowboarders, for snowboarders” approach. In 2018, the Nidecker brothers (Henry, Xavier, Cedric) purchased Rome Snowboards and Bataleon Snowboards under their Low Pressure Studio (LPS) entity.

The 2020 Rome Snowboards pro snowboard team consists of Stale Sandbech, Alex Ostreng, Ozzy Henning, Len Jorgensen, Rene Rinnekangas, and LNP.

In addition to making freestyle and park snowboards for sale, Rome Snowboards as produces snowboard bindings such as the Katana and Targa, snowboard boots such as the Inferno SRT and the Guide SRT, and Rome SDS softgoods (everywear) for men and women snowboarders.
